Acne Scar Removal Products Show Promise
You may not have to live with those unsightly scars from a bad case of acne; there are several acne scar removal products available that can restore your face to the way it looked before you first broke out with the disease. Anyone who has suffered with acne understands how the tell tale scars can make you feel self conscious about your appearance and lower your self esteem. The most popular of the scar removal product line are creams that contain chemicals like salicylic acid or glycolic acid. They work by removing the top layer of skin, unclogging pores and generating new skin growth. These chemicals can be quite harsh so most of the creams will include a moisturizer to prevent the skin from drying out. Before using any scar removing cream it is a good idea to test it on a small patch of skin first to make sure that you do not have an adverse reaction to it. There are other creams on the market which combat the effects of acne with an anti-bacterial substance like benzoyl peroxide. The anti-bacterial creams can be successful in unclogging pores and reversing the damage done by acne but they too can severely dry out the skin so use of a moisturizer is also recommended. There are other topical antibiotics which can be used with active ingredients like erythromycin and testracycline which have shown to be more effective than oral antibiotics.
The antibiotic creams will require a doctor’s prescription but most of the chemical peels do not. The over the counter acne scar removal products can be found at most pharmacies or online and it is recommended that you use them in conjunction with a second cream that contains vitamin A. The vitamin cream can promote quicker healing and will keep the skin from drying out.
