Acne is a problem which happens to a lot of people, but that does not mean that we all have to just accept the scars that come along with it – there are many ways to speed up acne scar healing. There is just no excuse for bad skin, especially today, when there are numerous treatments available. Whether you wish to go natural, or try the latest dermatological procedures, you’re sure to find a procedure that works for you.

How to heal acne scars

Here are examples of natural and dermatological methods to hasten acne scar healing. Most of these remedies will already be available in the home, or can be purchased in medical-grade formulations:

1. Lavender Oil – you’ve probably only regarded Lavender as an excellent aromatherapy oil, but this fragrant flower’s concentrate can also help in fading acne scars faster.

2. Rosehip Seed Oil – rosehip is already quite popular as a “magic” scar eraser. It is said to be very effective that long scars from accidents or operations are removed almost instantaneously – just think of its potency versus much smaller facial acne scars!

3. Aloe Vera Juice or Gel – just like lavender oil, aloe vera in concentrated amounts can do a good job of trying to speed up acne scar healing. The plant is usually rubbed directly to the acne laden area.

4. Lemon Juice – this all-around astringent extends its overachiever reputation by being an excellent remedy for making scars fade faster, even on the face.

5. Dermabrasion or Microdermabrasion – this method basically manually removes the scar areas from the face. The wounds are allowed to transform through application of medicines, which will make the facial skin heal into a new, smoother state.

6. Punch Excision, Elevation, and /or Skin drafting – instead of removing the entire layer of scarred skin, the scarred areas are filled in with new skin from other parts of the body.

7. Dermal Filling – filling materials like human fat or collagen are used to speed up acne scar healing.

8. Laser Resurfacing – laser, which has high heat, is used to make wounds from other surgical operations heal much, much faster.

The surgical methods, obviously, do promise faster results of healing acne scars, compared to the traditional or natural methods. But they are also more expensive, and therefore need more serious decisions in each and every case. They might also pose some side effects, but the faster healing time does have its conveniences. The natural methods are quite potent and effective too.

It won’t hurt to try all methods and see which acne scar healing treatment does the job. A consultation with your doctor for the best way to speed up acne scar healing would also be recommended.
